Tyson had wanted to diffuse the situation with Zara as quickly as possible. he feared its escalation back to the use of magic and he knew he would lose in a straight up duel. Not just because she was head of dueling club, but Tyson didn't put much stock into magic casting. Studying the theory of it, sure. He was a notorious Ravenclaw bookworm. But when it came down to defense against the dark arts, he didn't stand a chance. Charms and transfiguration was more his thing and they didn't often deal in the handling of evil hooded figures casting all manor of spells at you.
He nodded at her acceptance of his rather hasty and if he was honest, slapdash apology. "Thanks." He murmured for accepting it, stretching his arms wide as he worked to fight off the sensation of fatigue working its way down his body. He felt wide awake in his head, but that might be the leftover adrenaline talking. His body was starting to feel the strain of a day without sleep. Tyson watched as Zara kicked her feet back into the water and he couldn't help but watch the ripples the created echo out across the waters surface. He was afraid they would break onto something that wasn't supposed to be there. Tyson didn't know why he had such a phobia of the lake and whatever inhabited it. He thought it had to be more than just the fear of the unknown of the deep, maybe just a case of too much information about the merpeople and the giant squid.
Slowly edging closer to the waters edge and Zara's side, Tyson drew his wand and placed it on a rock nearby. It was uncomfortably poking him having been tucked down his jeans. When commenting on the time of day, Tyson looked around to make his point. "I only mean that at night, its less likely you'll be heard if you get into trouble what with everyone in bed and all." Tyson shrugged. He knew she wanted some peace and quiet but it could end up being her downfall. Tyson heard her new offer for help if things went wrong. He scooched closer to the edge and looked down at the surface of the water. "Erm..." Was all he could really say to her offer. He was being swung though. Zara had been just fine before he came out, maybe there was no danger in the lake.

"I think I can take care of myself Tyson." Zara told him simply. She never left her room without her wand on her person and when she finally turned 17 she would not have to worry about the use of magic outside of school. She would be an adult and be able to do what she wanted. The thought of her birthday made her slightly panicky though because she had no idea what Jason was planning but she really did not have a comfortable feeling in her stomach about it all. Those thoughts were only broken when she felt Tyson move himself closer.
Zara turned her head to watch him and once again felt a smile on her face. "Oh come on. I don't bite." She made the joke. "Honestly what is there to be scared of? You are a wizard Crowshaw. You should know enough by now to be able to protect yourself." Zara slowly pulled her legs out of the water as they were now slowly becoming numb. The water ran down them and she shook them off a little bit before pulling out her wand and drying them. Zee then rolled her trouser legs down. "Are you gonna tell me what else you are scared of? Or is it only underwater creatures?"

Tyson never had a fear of water and sill didn't to this day. But with his dad wanting him to have a proper muggle upbringing, he was enlisted for swimming lessons from an early age. Tyson took to them like a fish to water but his mum took issue with how his dad assumed wizards don't swim. It was a weird household with the constant headbutting over muggle vs magic, Tyson often wondered how he got through it in one piece. He guess he didn't, he chose to totally avoid his dad now and saw himself as basically fatherless. That's what he received early on in his wizarding life, his dad wanted nothing to do with the magic world and was appalled at the thought that his son wouldn't get into a muggle university. Tyson for a time had felt like he let his dad down but now he knew that he was on his own path in life that suited him just fine.
He simply nodded at her comment. Tyson didn't deny Zara's skills as a witch, he feared her as an adversary. He shook his head a bit at his own comment. "I don't deny that, i heard you're head of the dueling club?" He asked admirably, getting to be head of a school activity was no easy feat, not to mention the fact that she had come out as top of the pile in dueling club. If there was a way of getting closer to the title of 'badass magic user', Tyson didn't know. Thus Zara was the one person he would want to be behind when the spells started flying.
Smiling at her comment, Tyson playfully poked her shoulder gently to show he wasn't so much afraid of her as he was the water. Indeed he knew she was joking but he was just trying to relax himself more. "Wizard i may be but don't count on me if i have to, like, hex someone." He said awkwardly, shuffling a bit as he made his way to the waters edge. He eventually ended up next to Zara with his feet firmly tucked away under his thighs as he sat cross legged. Tyson watched as Zara withdrew her legs from the lake and felt a sigh of relief, he no longer felt as pressured to take a dip. What else was he scared of? Tyson was very much an individual who believed ignorance was bliss. "Like proper fears that keep me up at night?" Tyson mused as he looked out over the expanse of water briefly before looking back at Zara. "You'll laugh, but it used to be flying. Apart from that, nothing makes my skin crawl as much as this lake. Maybe a few creepy crawlies." He said with a shudder. "What about you?" He asked, tilting his head a bit as a sign of interest.
