Kale lounged against one of the beams, watching the light slowly fade across the skyline. In his lap sat a purr ball of fluff, more commonly known as Penny. She was batting the back of his well read copy of the Odyssey. His glasses perched precariously on the end of his nose as he watch the sky.
He had finally found a spot that no one truly used. If he read in the common room, he got badgered by his siblings. And it was too cold for couples, so he didn't get bothered by them either. That's just left his cat. And he wasn't getting any time without her anytime soon.
She pawed at his hand and he chuckled. "I never get a real break, do I?" he put hs book down and scooped her up. She gave a disgruntled meow and tried to squirm out of his hands. Ignoring her, he put her back down, and pulled off his glasses, biting one end.
Now he was just bored. If he went downstairs, it would be people, probably a slap or too from Anna Castairs, she was still mad at him. he hadn't 'ripped out her heart and stomped on it'. They had gone out on two, yes two dates, and he hadn't planned anything else with her.
When it got round that he had been with another girl, (which he hadn't been with!) he had gained himself a slap and a badly placed kick in the shin. Not that he was bothered about Anna. She had an awful laugh, and really only wanted to get to his brothers.
He sighed, girls were far to much hassle at the moment.

Johanna was more than bored. For nearly half an hour, she'd listened to Deana's never-ending list of complaints. She didn't like her hair, nor was she fond of her new dress - which had cost twenty thousand Gaellons. And she kept on carping about how lucky Johanna was, to have Chance de Tencin as a brother-in-law.
Ever since Johanna hold told her, she'd kept on asking for a chance to meet him - hoping he'd whisk her away to his studio in London and make her the best model in the Wizarding World. Johanna had frequently told her that she was far too plain to be a model, but Deana had yet to give in.
So, she'd left quickly, and was walking up towards the towers to read through her stack of plays in peace. She'd joined the Drama Club in her Second Year, and was the President for this year - meaning she had to pick the selection of plays. Tradition dictated that the President put forward four plays, and the Club would pick its two favourites. These would then be performed before the Christmas and Summer breaks.
As she walked up there, with a satchel filled with borrowed plays, she spotted Kale Udinovik sat up in the rafters. Johanna enjoyed her time with Kale; unlike other good-looking guys in this school, he wasn't an arrogant jerk. Just arrogant, and a bit of a flit - but Johanna could be accused of the same. All in all, she enjoyed his compnay.
"What you loitering around here then for, Udinovik?" asked Johanna with a smirk, sitting down on the floor.

Kale sat up, hearing a voice. Miss. Allender. He watched as she sat down. Penny jumped down and ran over to the girl, meowing and rolling over, as if Kale never scratched her tummy.
"Well I came up to read, as I can see you did. But I guess yours is a bit more, erm," he searched for a word. A flaw in his near perfect English. "Academic?" he landed down next to her, swiping a book, or play, he corrected himself, from her bag.
"Shakespear? I didn't know you enjoyed desprately sad love stories Jo-Jo." he smirked, and sat down, and rescued Johanna from getting fluff all over, and pulled Penny back onto his lap.

Johanna arched an eyebrow as Kale jumped elegantly down from the rafters - that guy was far too dignified at times. Especially for a Beater; Johanna frequently teased that with his books and cat, he was much more suited to the role of Seeker.
Kale was yet to find the funny side.
"I'm the academic one? You're reading The Odyssey - that's hardly light-reading, is it Kale dear?" smirked Johanna, opening up her satchel and emptying her borrowed plays onto the floor.
She opened up a copy of Much Ado About Nothing, which she'd never properly read - it was rather old, but hopefully better than the torture that was Romeo and Juliet. Her mother had recommended it though, stating that it was a very good play - Johanna had given it a quick glance through during the train journey. She was yet to decide if she wanted to play Beatrice or Hero.
"I don't expect you to understand the genuis that is Shakespeare, Kale - the only things you Swedish have produced are blondes and Vikings. Besides, this one isn't sad - it's a comedy," informed Johanna.
She didn't just have Shakespeare - she had 'Blood Brothers and An Inspector Calls; both Muggle plays, but she liked them both as they were heavily critical of class. She also had several Wizarding plays - particularly 'Dracon Cliff.
It was a relatively new play, and one that she'd loved forever. It was a musical, and Johanna was certain that if they were to do a musical, it would be this one.

"It doesn't count, I've read it many times before. Brushing up on my English" he smirked, knowing himself he didn't even need to 'brush up' on his speech. It was almost perfect already.
Kale placed the back down on the newly made pile. Penny, who loved being the centre of Kale's world, waited patiently for Kale to pet her again. When he placed his back on his knee with so much as a pat, she decided a good telling-off was in order.
Kale swore colourfully as his cat dangled from his thumb, which he's yanked into the air in shock, as Penny's teeth sunk into his skin, and they were gripping for dear life as he shook his hand, trying to rid her from him. He gave one rather sharp tug and she let go, scampering off to hide up in the rafters.
"Bloody women today. A slap and even my cat's giving me grief." he snapped as he grabbed a handkerchief from his pocket and wrapped his thumb in it. Too everyone else, she was a cute fur ball that was sweet. Too him, if he wasn't playing to her tune, he would have yet another bite mark.
He laughed at her remark. Though this may be true, he wasn't about admit it. "You say that like it's a bad thing, Jo-Jo? Aren't blondes just a little bit gorgeous?" he raked a hand through his own blonde curls and grinned. Compared to his brothers, he was the 'pretty boy' in the family, opting to keep his fair hair long and managed.
"I only said that 'Romeo and Juliet ' was sad, anything else seems just about okay. Who has joined up this year, or are you still short on voices?" Not that he'd be any good, but he was sure a couple of his friends would love to join in. Johanna was popular with the guys.
Not that he hadn't noticed her himself, but she was just so good at being his friend, he had never really thought of trying anything on with her. Not that he would ever get anywhere. She went through boys like one eats chocolates.
It troubled him sometimes that they were so alike.

Johanna gave Kale a look, that told him that she knew he was talking rubbish. Kale spoke English better than half the native English people in this country, and Johanna knew the real reason why Kale treasured his tarnish, old copies of Muggle books. They were from his Aunt; for years, Johanna had assumed that his Aunt was dead - the way Kale never spoke about her, and treasured his gifts from her.
But then his cousin had joined Hogwarts, and had not spoken of a deceased mother - then, Johanna had realiseid that it was because his Aunt was not like the Udinoviks. She was a Hufflepuff, and Johanna was slightly unsure as to why the family disowned her; Houses were normally a cause of tension, but never had she heard of someone being disowned. She suspected that an older, more personal reason was hidden in Sweden, but she'd never pried.
"Don't curse us, Kale; you wouldn't be here if it wasn't for us 'blood women'. Besides, it's in her rights, you are a jerk - I'm talking about Penny here. I'm on your side in the whole Anna debacle," said Johanna, not looking up from 'Much Ado About Nothing as she spoke.
In honesty, Johanna thought Kale was stupid for going after Anna Castairs. She was a dramatic, over-emotional girl with a tendency to exaggerate and burst into tears. Plus, Johanna couldn't see the attraction to her - her hair was obviously dyed, and she wasn't the smallest of girls. Not quite the since of Alicia Goyle, but not near Johanna's own lithe figure; a figure she'd bloody worked for.
"Meh, some blondes are okay. Your blonde is too golden; go for more of a Malfoy, and then you'll be fine - don't take Malfoy's personality though. He's still trying to get with me. Bloody arrogant prick. And I'm yet to get the final list back, but I think we're low on numbers. It mainly seems to be the regulars - no chance you want to join up?" said Johanna hopefully, glancing up with arched eyebrows.
She'd tried to get Kale to join Drama Club since their Second Year. It was hard to explain the thrill of being on stage, and the excitement that came with taking on a character. The way that people just sat around stage, in various stages of make-up and costume, goofing around and socializing. Kale was yet to join; Johanna had tried bribery, blackmail and plain bullying. It hadn't helped her cause when Sophia Yuen, last year's Head Girl, had tripped and sent her costume tumbling to the ground - leaving her naked before the entire school.
Whilst the rest of the cast had tried to comfort Sophia, Johanna had been on the floor in hysterics. She'd had to hide herself in the toilets, so that she didn't upset Sophia more than she already was. Personally, she didn't get why more people hadn't laughed - it had been the most hilarious thing to happen at Hogwarts since Jack Flint wet himself in First Year.

Kale watched her for a moment. She was thinking of something, and it defiantly wasn't her play. She was trying to work something out, the way her brow furrowed ever so slightly made that evident. But, as she had never pried into his mind, he didn't with hers.
He watched the cat as Johanna commented on her. Jo wasn't the first person to side with pet over himself. "Atleast you wont be one of the girls queuing up to hit me then. It was two dates, to that disgusting cafe in hogsmead. I don't see how anyone can get so attached so quickly." a sour expression slid over his perfect features. He mumbled something about his brothers, and no one had ever dared strike them.
He guessed he just wasn't as intimidating as the rest of his siblings. He scoffed at Malfoys expense. There was no way that slimy man would get his hands on Johanna. She had standards. He thought of his twin brother, Jaxon, and how close he had become to that group over the last year. Jaxon's personality hadn't changed, and he had always been fairer than Kale, but to anyone else, who had noticed him before, they would know he was just like that.
"Ah, so the only feature I have inherited from the less cold side of my family, you seem to think is imperfect? Interesting. But i would rather keep this than have the white ghost breath mop that is Malfoys hair. Maybe I should get you and my Jaxon to converse?" he laughed just a little. Johanna would rip his brothers opinions to shreds and his aspersions into tatters. He highly doubted Johanna had any wish to dabble in Dark Magic.
"Well that does sound charming, however, I'm. Not quite sure how well i would succeed at acting. And I generally don't do things, if there's a slight chance i will make my self a fool. How about my third year cousin? Garret. Or even my little sister maybe be fond of a little fun. I will think about it."
He sat back onto his hands, and sighed. The tower was darkerning now, the sunset a mere smudge of crimsons and melting into deep shades of purple and blue. A chill was beginning to settle, and he wondered if Johanna was cold or not in her attire.
"How is that 'silly little Ravenclaw' girl? Kyou, isn't it?" he loved hearing about Johannas attempts in friendship, when she herself had no intention of being anything but a gossip about it.

Personally, Johanna had never been to a date in Hogsmeade; she refused to on a moral basis. The Three Broomsticks, whilst comfortable, was not nearly clean enough for a date, and Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop made her lose faith in humanity. If she on a date then she expected to be whisked away from Hogwarts - or, at least, a polite walk around the grounds, perhaps with a nice picnic at the end.
Her idea of a picnic was less picnic and more of an al fresco gourmet experience. You can't blame a girl for having refined tastes, can you?
"My darling Kale, I'm calling you imperfect because if you were perfect, I would very much loathe you and your pretty blonde head. And if you put me anywhere near Jaxon, I may just lock you in a room with every girl you've ever pissed off. Despite his prettiness, your brother really is a follower; I'm certain that he's not as bad as Malfoy, and just sticking around for the few perks. Is it true that your parents are hoping to marry him to one of the Black sisters?" asked Johanna, with a smirk.
She felt sympathy for anybody that married into that family. Bellatrix Black was a psychopath, and Johanna was certain that Andromeda was most probably bipolar. And then the spoilt princess Narcissa, along with their ridiculous cousin, Regulas. And Johanna loathed Sirius Black the most; she didn't mind James Potter, but something about Sirius made her want to hit him with a Beater's bat.
"Kale, you're made for acting. Good-looking and dramatic; you're basically the definition of actor. Self-interested and attention-loving - it's all the characteristics that I love you for. Now please join, otherwise my first year as President will be horrendous. And if you can get your cousin and sister to join, then great; I'd love to meet the in-laws," smirked Johanna.
She rather loved teasing Kale. Commitment scared them both, so it was fun to joke that she was to marry him. Her humour did tend to revolve around flirting and romance - she'd once dated a guy with a similar hair colour and nose. During a walk around the Lake, they'd bumped into a group of First Years. Johanna had proceeded to tell them that her and her date were siblings, and then snogged him.
The First Years had practically burst into tears, and ran off screaming.
It was a shame that Alex had left actually; he was one of the few guys who understood her. Johanna made a mental note to write him a letter at some point. She was sure that he'd got a job in the Ministry, but she couldn't be certain.
"Don't even talk to me about Kyou. She's a fake, arrogant, spoilt little girl, that I'm going to murder. Brutally."
Johanna didn't know why Kyou was so obsessed with her; it was downright creepy.

Kale smirked at what she said. He guessed she was right, but she would never suit a lighter colour. Her hair was too pretty as it was. He reached forwards and twirled a lock of her hair in his fingers.
"I don't suppose you'd ever think of dying this, would you? I'm telling, or rather asking you to never even contemplate it." he smiled affectionately.
He winced at the thought of being locked somewhere with those girls. Even though there were less of them than people thought, he wouldn't wish to be any closer than he had to be with them.
"Well then, i guess we can come to an agreement to never do that to one another. Though I do worry about him sometimes. Especially on the marriage front. My parents have been debating at length about it. " he scowled.
Her persistence was admirable. And however or whatever he wanted to get away, she never let him. How could he say no to her?
"That would be a marriage my parents would approve of, my dear." he smiled broadly.
His parents thought highly of the Allenders. Even if she was the youngest, she was still a remarkable woman. "Well, as you seem to think so highly of me. And i have to say that's quite right. As long as I don't have perform greatly, I will help out. Does that sound about right?"
He chuckled at Johanna. Kyou was a small ball of fiery intellect. Rather a pretty specimen, she knew how to choose her words wisely.
"But she's rather a good candidate for my parents to search for me a wife. Even with her being in Ravenclaw, she does have an edge about her. Ever a chance you may slip me a good word, even if you speak so lowly of her?"

Johanna batted his hand away with mild annoyance. She hated people playing with her hair, even if they were close to her. As a child, she'd once slapped a hairdresser who'd dared to start cutting without asking permission. They'd stupidly assumed that they were giving Johanna the haircut specified by her Father; seven-year old Johanna had her own ideas.
"No, I won't dye it - nor should you worry about marriage. If the girl is a complete bore or resembles a Flobberworm, then just announce that you play for the other team, as they say. I've got a cousin who did it; sure, he has to bring his best friend to family dinners, but he did avoid marrying one of the Parkinson twins," said Johanna, with a playful smirk.
From the little knowledge she had on Kale's family, she doubted they'd betroth him too soon - none of his brothers were yet married or betrothed, and tradition dictated that the eldest must be married first. Well, it did amongst the French Wizarding aristocracy - it's why Georgiana caused such a massive scandal when she married Chace de Tencin, before Louis even had a girlfriend.
Well, that and the fact that she was posing in the nude and pulling all sorts of suggestive poses with other naked mdels. Johanna had particularly enjoyed the various shades of red that her Father had turned.
"Aww, I'd love to marry you to, but our children would turn up mentally damaged. And trust me, Kale, you don't want Kyou as a wife either - she's an arrogant, spoilt little girl who thinks the whole world is her's," spat Johanna with a look of contempt upon her face.
She loathed Kyou with every bone in her body - the girl was so whiny and manipulative, and the sort of girl that Johanna found both attractive and repulsive at the same time. Either way, she wanted to avoid Kyou as much as possible.

He pulled his hand back, Johanna obviously didn't like him doing that. She reminded him of his younger sister. The same way she was around him, without a the flirting, of course. Katerina had always enjoyed Johanna's company, and he only really realised now why.
"Good good, you could never be blonde. and for me, that could never be an option my darling, I probably would never be allowed back at the Manner if I brought a gentlemen caller home with me. he scowled into his hands. His parents were never the accepting type. They would more happily forget that Jaxon had a twin.
He contemplated this. Where had the notion of children had come from? And why would they be messed up? "Why would they be mad? I think your children, one day, would be perfectly normal, Jo-Jo." he smiled at her, and unsure wether he was in the right or not, he pattered her knee gently.
He smirked at her distaste when she spoke of Kyou. The girl was obviously not one of her favourites.
"But that seems just perfect for me, does it not? I'm through with unintelligent blondes that giggle over tea at that dreadful café. I want some one who wants the world, with a little fire. Just a word to her from me, tell her I'm interested? Or I may have to ask my parents to talk to yours." he laughed, leaning forward to steal a kiss on the cheek. The way he was acting with Johanna was going to get him slapped, but he didn't care. She was good fun.

Johanna cringed at the thought of herself as a blonde; the mere thought made her want to burst into tears. From what she'd seen of Kale's parents, they were not too bad - stricter than most parents, but not the evil, baby-smothering people that Kale made them out to be. Whilst she'd never argue with him, she did wonder how much was truth, and how much was the rebellious, 'me-against-the-world' attitude that teenagers had become infamous for - herself included.
"That reminds me, do you prefer James or Peter for a boy? I've decided that I'm going for British names; French names are far too dramatic. And I've already decided that I'm naming my first girl Anne. And they would not be perfectly normal, Kale - normal is boring. I want one to be gay, and at least two to smoke." said Johanna, acting as if she'd had this planned for age.
In actual fact, she tried to avoid thinking about her future. She wasn't entirely sure that she wanted kids - it would mean settling down, and marrying and becoming somebody's wife. And, Merlin, childbirth was not an attractive idea.
As Kale talked of how much Kyou would suit him, Johanna mimed out retching at the thought of him and Kyou. Why couldn't he understand that Kyou wasn't even clever or that interesting? She was just smug, and dull, and her entire existence was practically pointless. When Kale kissed her cheek, Johanna rolled her eyes and pushed him away.
"Don't kiss me with that vile mouth of your's, Udinovik - Merlin knows where that's been. And she's not this edgy, headstrong girl that you think she is; she's posh and snobby, and everything we're against. Literally, she is like a Muggleborn Narcissa Black," said Johanna scornfully, rummaging through her bag as she spoke.
Her hand brushed against a rectangular packet, and she pulled out the cigarettes with ease. Holding one in her mouth, she lit it with her wand and inhaled deeply. Her brother told her that these cigarettes were going to kill her; she didn't really care. After a slow exhale, and another long drag on the cigarette, she offered it to Kale with raised eyebrows.
"You want it?" she asked.

He studied her features. They were proud and slim at the same time. If she didn't wear make-up, her cheekbones would be lost, her skin was so clear. He wondered whether the look was generic, or it was hard fought for from Johanna's place. He guessed the latter, but he knew that her sister was, or at leats must be, a rather beautiful witch.
"James, of course. Much nicer. " he said with out almost any hesitation. He scowled. He didn't get what she was saying. She said their children would be mad, then says she doesn't want normal children. "Jo-jo, I don't get your logic? You say you want mad children, and that our children would be mad? But yet you still decline?"
He didn't get Jo, but she was good company to have. He wondered how pleased Mother would be, if he brought her home with him at Christmas. Nothing other than he needed someone else with his same perspectives around the table. "Jo-Jo, can I invite you to come home with me, for the Christmas break? Might get our parents off our backs about Marriage, if they think we're doing a good job ourselves." he laughed slightly.
He took out his handkerchief and wiped her cheek theatricality, and begged her forgiveness with a grin. "You might be surprised to know it's been less places than most people like to think." He arched an eye brow at the use of 'we'. Was Johanna saying something he didn't get. Or was she simply being collective. "I like Muggleborns, especially Scottish ones like herself. Even if she is a snob, I still think she's a little charming. You like Nikolas and Anthon don't you? Even my big sister Emilia you seem to get with. Their bigger snobs than I, and I am rather a spoilt brat, aren't I not?" He just wanted her to put him in a good word, one tiny word. It wasn't much.
"Ah, but Jo, my dear, I don't know where that pretty little mouth of yours has been, do I?" he chuckled, and reached into his own top pocket for his own ciggerette. He lit it, and inhaled deeply, relishing in the taste and smell of the addictive smoke.

"Kale, I want mildly abnormal children. I want children that are interesting. But if we raised children, I fear they'd end up in Azkaban for some reason or another. And of course I'll come to a Udinovik Christmas - I do hope that you'll be whisking me away to Sweden. I'm expecting snow and reindeer," said Johanna, with a small laugh.
Kale wasn't too bad, really, and Johanna was mainly joking that their children would become mass murderers. Still, she wasn't even sure if she wanted children yet, and it was hopefully a few years away. Unlike many girls her age who wanted a good career, she wasn't planning to have children in her forties. No, she was certain that she could juggle both a political career and being a mother; as long as she was married to a man that was help her.
"Kale, dear, I know about every kiss that's happened in this castle - of course I know that you've kissed less people than a Fifth Year Hufflepuff. But we have to keep up your reputation, don't we?" chuckled Johanna, with a devilish smirk.
Merlin, Johanna wanted to punch Kale - he really was desperate to meet Kyou. Why anybody would ever actively want to meet the stuck-up cow, Johanna would never know. Johanna just knew that if she ever became Minister for Magic, she would have her assassinated.
"Fine, I'll introduce you two - but don't come crying to me when she destroys your life." Johanna replied, with a flick of her hair.
She was briefly annoyed at Kale for continuing to mention Kyou, until he joked about her own mouth. She couldn't stop her chuckles, as Kale begin to smoke his own cigarette. She raised her own for another inhale, and blew out the smoke slowly.
"What N.E.W.T.s are you taking again?" Johanna suddenly asked, looking at the blonde with the cigarette hanging loosely between her index finger and middle finger on her right hand.

"My dearest Johanna, it wouldn't a Udinovik Christmas if it wasn't in Sweden with snow, would it? I am glad you expect nothing less." He laughed heartily. His family wouldn't been seen anywhere other than the Eldest Udinovik's Mannor House at Christmas time. It would, in turn, fall to Nikolas soon to host the event, once he was married and children were apparent.
Kale was glad he would never have host such space and time consuming events. His idea of the perfect home didn't exactly fit with his parents. He wanted a cabin, modestly nestled in the woods. Ease to be out, and enough room to raise a family in, with the odd guest. Not the acres of land his parents had.
He took another slow drag on the ciggerette, feeling Penny crawl back onto his knee apologetically. He carefully tickled her, so as not to disturb his thumbs wound.
"The reputation my brothers sculpted in third year, of course, that has to be upheld." He scowled. "Jo-Jo, I may be rebellious and charming, but I am no whore." He didn't need to voice his reasons why out loud, Johanna knew well enough. He had slept only a girl in the most simplest of senses. That's right. Kale Udinovik, the most scandalous if the brothers, was still, and quite contently, a virgin.
He broke into a grin, one that lit up his eyes. "Oh Johanna, thank you." he said in the most dramatic voice he could muster. "Oh, I thought you knew, this Udinovik does not cry for anyone." he said with a slight smirk.
"I'm taking Astrology, Care of Magical Creatures, Alchemy, History of Magic, Potions and Transfigurations. How about you Johanna?"
