Matt is a very confident lad probably bordering more on the arrogant side at times. He's very self assured Mainly due to the fact that throughout his school career he always got what he wanted when he wanted it.
Apart from that. his personality is dark. He tends to think along the lines of controlling those around him and rather then let them into his heart he gives them a false hope and then would like to crush it.

detailed history
Matt was born on March 31st, 1951, To Ken and Hillary Edgmon. Born of pure blooded witches and Wizards meant nothing to him from birth seeing as how his family wasn't the bigots of the wizarding world. As he grew in his first years he was taught the importance of family and the responsibility of the strong to protect the weak.
Of course that all changed once his sisters were born. Miley was born first. Almost 8 years after him, And quickly he discovered that he was better suited to keeping his sisters happy then to trying to learn about his wizard backgrounds. As he watched her reach nearly one year of age and saw the birth of his second sister he found himself more and more distracted and started to rebel a bit. Spending long days away from home despite his parents worries and then as he entered into Hogwarts he found a way to keep himself entertained.
His first year of Hogwarts was rather... Bland for lack of a better word. He studied. "Made friends" if you can call it that and quickly developed a reputation as the Hufflepuff Bully. He found himself enjoying the bossing around of the students around him and with the progression in classes that led to his leaving Hogwarts he left in a way that most people would remember. He left as an adult who used both his looks and magical potential to keep his fellow students in line and keep them from going against his wishes.
As Matt left school he decided that sticking around Hogwarts would be best if he wanted to keep an eye on anyone. Especially his sisters so He requested a teaching position and now here he is. Staying at Hogwarts as the Care for Magical Creatures professor and enjoying the fact that he still has power over the younger students and slowly but surely some of the other teachers.
