personality
Wendy is a rather unique personality. On the inside she is hurt and scared girl who saw torn apart bodies of her family and hides behind the mask of forgetfulness and smiles. The face that she shows everyone is a smiling free spirit who loves wearing baggy clothes.
Wendy is an early riser that loves to sing while she gets ready for the day. You can always see her with a smile on her face and a sketch pad under her arm. She loves to be outside to enjoy the sunshine. So that is Wendy Darlington.

Growing up in Aldeburgh was a joy there always seemed to be a flow of new people entering the town as it had become a very popular weekend destination. The Darlington house stood looking out over the sea which is where the "old fort" and most of the Tudor town was lost. The history of the town had always been interesting to the young female. Especially the fact that it was once a leading port and flourishing ship-building industry. Of course those days were far gone like the old fort that the town was named for.
Traveling had been the only way for Chris and Wendy to attend school taking the train from the Aldeburgh Railway Station to London Liverpool Street. Her brother was just beginning to attend City Of London School for Boys. Which was ran by Dr. Arthur Willough Barton since 1950. While she was attending a school for students of ages 5-11 which was in some nice ladies home. To this day she can't remember why she couldn't have been schooled at home.
It was at age 7 during the summer that Wendy realized that she wasn't like everyone else and was special or so her parents repeatedly told her while looking at one other with bemused looks over her head. None of them had a clue as to what was going on with her and it sort of scared them to see their little girl doing impossible things. One of the first things that happened was Christopher had been chasing his little sister in the light sea surf when a huge wave had come towards them. With-in the blink of an eye the water stopped in mid plunge and the two had ran towards the house. As soon as they were out of harms way the wave came crashing into the spot where the two had been standing with enough force that Christopher knew would have killed his little sister.
Wendy was now 11-years old and her brother was 17. Wendy of course would be returning to City of London School for Girls for her second year with-in the next 2 months. While her brother would be returning to City of London School for Boys for his final year at the same time. As always during the summer holidays Marie and Wendy were baking peanut butter cookies when a large brown barn owl swooped though the open kitchen window dropping a letter in front of the shocked Wendy. It had been known for 4 years now that Wendy was different they were just now going to find out just how different she was.
Wendy had stared at the letter which was addressed to Miss Wendy Darlington, Darlington House Kitchen, Aldeburgh. She had snapped out of her daze and flipped the envelope over looking at the seal on the back not noticing her mother's curious gaze on her. Tearing the seal she read the letter itself and almost fainted. At that point the 11-year-old had turned to her mother and said "Mama this letter says I've been accepted to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry." Unlike her daughter Marie Belle Channing Darlington hadn't just almost fainted but had dropped to the ground in a dead faint.
After waking her mother from her faint and telling her father and brother what was going on the 4 of them left there cozy home and headed for London. A very long car ride later the family of four stood in the middle of the busy street looking around for a place that they could buy all Wendy's new school supplies. It was then that Wendy herself spotted the building that housed the Leaky Calderon. Everyone seemed to be walking right past it without knowing it was there. She had decided then that this must be a good place as any to start her search. She had caught her family's attention and they entered the pub.
Upon entering Wendy felt eyes fall on her and turned to gaze in the direction she thought the felling was coming from. Of course there was nothing there so she walked to the bartender and asked "Can you tell me where to go to find my school supplies for Hogwarts?" The bartender had looked down his nose at the small female in front of him and smiled. "Of course just walk out the back door and I'll be right there," he had replied. Wendy had nodded and exited the door that she had been told to and found herself in a dead end alley. Of course she had thought it was some sort of cruel Wizard joke and had turned to head back inside only to find the bartender directly behind her.
The wizard bartender had tapped a brick and suddenly the bricks had moved around and an opening had appearing. Smiling at the shocked looks on their faces he had said, "Welcome to Diagon Alley." Shaking her shock away the female had smiled back and entered the entry way her and parents and brother directly behind her. She had then remembered the good manners she had been brought up with and turned to thank the bartender and was once more faced with a solid wall. Shaking her head she had looked around the alley trying to figure out where to go first.
Spotting a large white building and many people entering and exiting it she grabbed her fathers hand and dragged him towards the building reading the name it said Gringotts Wizarding Bank. She had decided this had been the correct choice after all. After leaving the bank with some of there pounds into Knuts, sickles and Galleons they walked through the stores grabbing all her supplies. Finally they entered Ollivander's where they purchased her 11", Willow, powdered Unicorn horn core wand. Having finished their shopping the family exited the alley and then the pub to drive back home.
It was now the night before she was to leave to Hogwarts from platform nine and three-quarters. A high pitched scream could be heard though the night. Waking the sleeping female from her sound sleep. Scrambling from her bed as she heard the sound of footsteps coming up the stairs she hid in the only place she could think of which was under her bed. Seeing bare clawed feet from her place she had to cover her mouth to stop from screaming. That wasn't normal and she knew it even then. Holding her breath she watched as the clawed feet left the room and a growling voice said "Is there is no one else here?" Another voice made some comment she couldn't hear and then the footsteps could be heard going back down the stairs.
A few moments later she heard the front door open and shut yet she stayed beneath the bed for another 10 minutes. Finally Wendy had found the courage to come out from beneath the bed and moved as if in a trance out of her room and down the stairs. The sight that meet her eyes made her scream and scream and scream. In fact she was still screaming when the police finally arrived. They began asking her questions none of which she can remember and which she was to in shock to answer. The police officers had given up trying the terrified 11-year-old about what had happened and called the elder Darlingtons. With-in 15 minutes she was being cradled in Grandma Anna's arms while her Grandpa Christopher had dealt with the officers.
If pressed about what she had seen that night Wendy would shake her head and not respond. What she had seen would have been life shattering to any child. It was the torn apart bodies of not only her older brother Christopher who had been watching her that night but the bodies of her parents and Grandma Rosalinda and Grandpa Arthur. The Blood had been everywhere on the once cheerful mint green walls and the pale green carpet. An arm had been hanging over an arm of the couch although she was never sure who it actually belonged to. Nothing human had done this to her family. Nothing human had clawed feet either.
The next day even after such a trying evening Wendy woke up with a smile on her face and walked down the stairs of the Darlington manor. She had went to the train station in London with her grandparents the only family she had left and walked though the barrier between platforms 9 and 10. She had boarded the train and forgot all about what had happened that night. She had become the cheerful, smiling, forgetful female everyone has come to know. That evening at the sorting hat was placed on her head it shouted for all to hear the name of her new house which happened to be Hufflepuff.
The rest of her first and second year had passed by in a blur. It was in third year that she discovered it had been werewolves that killed her family. She has of course been afraid of them ever since. This was also the year she had been she saw Hogsmeade for the first time. Of course this was also the year of the duck incident which happened during her first Hogsmeade visit. It Had bitten and chased her through the wide streets. She has hated feared them ever since. Her fourth year was uneventful as was her fifth with only the O.W.L's to do.
During the summer before her sixth year her Grandfather was diagnosed with lung cancer and not even a month later he was gone now it is just her and her grandmother. She wasn't sure about leaving her grandmother alone in the large house with no one for company. However her Grandmother wanted her to come back.
