personality Jesse is a spit fire and teens to dive into things without looking first. She’s generally easy going and doesn’t tend to get angry easily, except in a few cases. Bullying is something she can’t handle at all and tends to have a very short fuse about it. She can also be touchy about not knowing who her real parents are. Jesse likes to have a good time, but it’s also like a shell, a defense for when she is worried about something. She usually worries the most when her brother is away on a mission. Some may see being raised in a purely muggle fashion is a hinderance in the magical world. Jesse doesn’t see it that way, she sees it as a strength because she can survive and blend into either world without a problem. She also has a lot of honor and loyalty. She knows she picked that up from her father and brother who are both in the military. They both instilled a sense of duty in her to look out for those smaller than her, those who wouldn’t stand up for themselves. They also taught her to not leave people behind, especially her brother. This extends to those she would consider enemies.
While Jessie is actually good at her classes, she doesn't usually come across that way. She's not one you'd find in the library unless it's something that severely interests her. But there have been the rare occasions when she's been spotted in the common room, up late, reading.
H I S T O R Y OF M A G I C family members
• biological mother: Maria Gail Cabrera, 35, Muggle • Biological father: Leonides Romulus Kent, 35, Pureblood, Studied in America (no former house) • Adoptive mother Caroline Sarah Jameson, 43, Muggle, History teacher • Adoptive father Harold “Hal” Jordan Jameson, 45, Muggle, Captain in the Air Force and a flight instructor • Adoptive brother Jay Chase Jameson, 24, Navy SEAL (Any half siblings are unknown as of now)
detailed history Jessica Brylinn Jameson was originally born to Maria Cabrera and Leonides Kent. She may have been born to them, but they never got a chance to be her parents. As it happened Maria and Leonides became potential parents at the age of 18. While most people would not think that is a big deal, Leonides’ pureblood parents would not stand for a muggle and a possible half-blood child in their family. They refused to let Maria see Leo, even going to the extent of moving back to England once the baby had been born and put up for adoption. It was put up for a sealed adoption, meaning Maria and Leo would never know who the new parents were and the adoptive family wouldn’t know who the biological parents were.

Jesse was adopted with in weeks by the Jameson family. Everything about how she was raised was perfectly muggle. Sure every once in awhile the brussel sprouts would mysteriously vanish or the broccoli would end up stuffed into the chimney, but that was normal of all children to not like the gross veggies right? It wasn’t until she was ten that something very weird happened. Jesse and Jay had been arguing over who would do the dishes that night after dinner. Jay said Jesse had to because he had a date with Katie Miles and mom had excused him from dishes so he could be home by curfew. Knowing she couldn't win, Jesse had stormed out of his room. She had just turned around with the intent of saying something else and then slamming the door when it slammed shut by itself. Her parents stormed up the stairs, yelling at Jesse that she could not go around slamming doors. She tried to tell them she hadn’t even touched the door, and a rather stunned Jay, opened the door and confirmed it, confusing everyone.
It wasn’t until Jesse turned 12 that those kinds of oddities started to make more sense. It all started one day when a raven flew in an open window and dropped off a letter inviting Jesse to move from Alabama up to Massachusetts to attend the Salem Academy for Magic. Well of course she and her family thought it was some weird joke, or maybe a scam, but by the time the eighth letter had arrived it had become rather annoying. No ninth letter and raven showed up, instead a representative from the school did. It took some convincing, but in the end Jesse’s dad put in for a transfer to Massachusetts so that his adoptive daughter could go to a school where she would learn magic.
Jesse had always felt like an outsider at school and now she knew why, because she was special. Of course that didn’t stop the kids at the school in Massachusetts from making fun of her for having glasses or being adopted into a pure muggle family. When she was 16 though, she really blossomed into a lovely young woman. Her parents finally got her the contacts she had been begging to get, and boys took notice of this new creature wandering the halls. Jesse wasn’t oblivious to this newfound power she had over boys and tended to exploit it whenever possible. She fell in with a rather rowdy crowd who liked to go out at night and spray paint ambiguous runes on the walls of subways and bus stations and the like. She didn’t know why, but she always signed her’s with a drawing of a blue bird.
While she became a flirt during her fourth year, that wasn’t the first time she’d had a boyfriend though. Tommy was her first boyfriend. They began dating when she was 14. She had heard all the rumors about him. How he usually had at least two girlfriends at one time, but Jesse didn’t want to believe them. She told the people telling her those things that if it was going to happen, she’d rather find out for herself then listen to rumors. For almost one and half years everything was perfect. He made her feel special, wanted, needed, beautiful for the first time outside of her family. The longer they dated however, the more controlling Tommy seemed to become. It frightened her, but Jesse was also afraid to break up with him because she didn’t know what he would do if she broke it off with him, but once she found out that he was still seeing his ex, Jesse took the plunge and broke it off. Pureblood Tommy couldn’t handle being dumped by a half-blood and began a mental barrage on Jesse trying to tear her down. It worked for awhile, but eventually, with the support of her family, Jesse turned herself around, but became a flirt in the process.
She stole a few boyfriends from other girls, not that she had to work hard at it or anything, earning her the nickname Jessie James, which is how she introduces herself most of the time. What she did have to work hard at was almost all of her classes. There were a few years that she almost failed them. Not that she wasn’t smart enough, she was just more interested in other pursuits. There was one class she seemed to have a natural talent for; transfigurations. It was like second nature for the southern girl to pick up. She started seeing her transfigurations teacher after class in her third year to work ahead because she had started to get bored in class and her grades had started to drop off. When she was 15 and in her fourth year, she found out about animagus and began working on becoming one. She has gotten very far despite having to hide her work, and move a couple of months after her fifth year.
During those few weeks before she moved to Scotland, Jesse and four of her girl friends went on a trip to New York City to see the sights, but also to do an extra credit assignment on Magical Landmarks on the East coast. The second night, she and her friends went out drinking with magically made fake IDs of course, but since it was a muggle bar, they knew they wouldn’t be caught. The danced, drank, and flirted the night away, but didn’t stay out till close or got too drunk; a part of them was trying to be smart, in a way. They stumbled down a narrow alley that would take them back to the street their hotel was on. It happened so fast, none of them had even heard any sounds before hand. Lindsey was suddenly sprawled on the ground, four long bloody gashes all down her back. The other two girls screamed and huddled together, but Jesse pulled her wand and turned to face whatever was behind them. Of course she hadn’t in the least bit expected it to be a werewolf in the middle of a busy city, and yet there is was, tall, thin, and covered in short, corse, white hair. Its eyes reflected the full moon. Her friends had stopped screaming, but they were frozen in fear behind her. Jesse just barely managed to jump backwards as it swiped at her. She turned and told her friends to run. She knew Hillary was already dead since she hadn’t moved, or moaned, or cried out since she had fallen, but maybe she could save the other two still. Her friends took off while Jesse kept the creatures attention on her by throwing a rock at its head. The thing lunged at her again, but she fired a stunning spell at it which,l while not stunning the beast, was enough to knock it back a few paces. Jess then turned and ran up the alley after her friends but she wasn't’ fast enough. The creature reached out and managed to slice into her back with two of its claws. This knocked her to the ground and her wand flew out of her hand. As the werewolf leapt over her, ready to bite her and turn the girl or kill her, Jess plunged a knife into it rib cage and American Ministry officials arrived. Jess was taken to the nearest magical hospital and she never did find out if the beast had lived or died.
Now I bet you are wondering, how does an American girl in a stable home come to be at Hogwarts for her last two years of school. It actually has to do all with her father. He was transferred in the middle of her fifth year to a base in England, but Caroline insisted that she and Jesse stay behind to finish out the school year and then they would join him in England. It took some doing and weedling, but they convinced the Ministry to let her transfer into Hogwarts to finish her last two years. This is her first year at Hogwarts, and Jesse has straightened up a bit. She not quite as flirtatious as she use to be, but still gets herself in trouble for it because let’s admit it; it’s fun. She doesn’t know who her biological parents are, but someday she hopes to find out and meet them.
