Mischief is James' daily agenda, being rather gifted at all manner of jinxes, one could find students who are hanging upside down in corridors, or floating a foot off the ground with no idea how to un-jinx themselves. Few are safe, beware...bewaaaaare.

Rules are for breaking, so if James happens to be out at night trying to find the answer to the question presented to him by the Ravenclaw Common Room door to set up a line of pranks and gags inside, don't be too surprised.

His friends, obviously. The fact he has found three partners in crime for his jokes and jinxing has made his life infinitely more interesting.

Quidditch, well of course he likes Quidditch, he's Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team and serves as a Chaser.

Defense Against the Dark Arts, while he hardly takes his classes seriously, he does tend to enjoy this particular class when he actually shows up.

Above all others, James has a sincere love for tormenting Severus Snape, one of the people James can't stand at the school alongside Lucius Malfoy, and a few other Slytherins.

More than one time, James has been spared severe punishment because of Albus Dumbledore, he is one man who James tends to be respectful towards, even when he's being lectured on the school rules, which he dislikes very much.

Not that it matters, but James took a recent notice of Lily Evans, he's not sure what to make of it yet since they haven't gotten along since school started, her being the more proper type than he is, not to mention she's been glued to Snape ever since they arrived. He dismisses the feeling of attraction with this reasoning.

Flying. One look at James, and one would think 'That kid must've just gotten off a broomstick...' In truth, James goes out of his way to maintain a permanent appearance of 'recent flight', and is proud of his abilities in the air.

James loves good company, though his best friends are Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, and Sirius Black, though he loves all of them like family. He doesn't mind hanging around other sorts of people, so long as they can appreciate a good jinx or prank as much as one of the formerly mention Gryffindors can.

dislikes

Well, Severus Snape certainly isn't James' favorite person, he goes out of his way to humiliate the Slytherin whenever he gets the chance, often publicly without regard for the other wizard's pride.

Lucius Malfoy and Bellatrix Lestrange, nasty pair, Lucius carries the elitist air that James occasionally displays but doesn't approve of, plus he's in league with all those other elitists who frequently cause trouble for Muggleborns, it doesn't help that BOTH of them are Snape's friends. Bellatrix strikes James as being slightly off her rocker, and he avoids her despite his Pureblood status.

The Slytherin House has earned James' dislike, even new students in the House find themselves branded as bad seeds by James Potter.

The Dark Arts are one of James' greatest dislikes, people who practice them are the only thing in the world he hates more, he finds people who are interested in that particular type of magic to be the worst sort.

He doesn't like being lectured about the rules, he knows most of them by heart, and knows what he's doing when he chooses to break them.

He doesn't much care for Potions class, the dungeons are smelly, damp, and dark, he feels quite trapped every time he's down there.

James has a terrible dislike of being trapped, such as when he's in detention for being caught doing something stupid.

James hates being told what to do, it's a personal issue, and he often finds himself doing the exact opposite unless it's something he wouldn't have done in the first place.

strengths

James has formidable skills in transfiguration and Defense Against the Dark Arts, as well as both verbal and non-verbal magic, it made him a prime candidate for becoming a member of he Death Eaters in the near future, though he would reject the offer, same as his future wife would.

James has cat-like reflexes thanks to his natural athleticism, it's helped his Quidditch career significantly.

James as is clever as he is mischeivious, with the help of Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew, and Remus Lupin, he created an elaborate map of every corridor that did, or ever would exist in Hogwarts and around the grounds, going as far as to detail Hogsmeade village that resides off the school grounds.

Arrogance, James can be extremely arrogant.

Boastful, well yes, because he is a Pureblood with natural talent in magic, so why not?

Proud, James can come off as a total ass when he's prideful, it often walks hand-in-hand with his boastfulness, though not always.

Incapable of following simple rules(Ex: Don't be out of your dorms after nightfall.)

personality

James Potter. The name often causes sneers of anger and spite from Slytherins, and weakness in the knees of the girls at Hogwarts. Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, devilishly handsome, and talented to boot, there are few who don't envy or respect him. He is often friendly enough when he chooses to be, though he can be equally as vicious, tending to hex unsuspecting students for a laugh. James can be sure of himself, and perhaps reckless at times, he's been known to hex students without regard of who might be watching. He's often chastised by Remus for such behavior, and the guilt he feels reveals that he isn't a bad person. He loves Remus, Sirius, and Peter like family, but is closest to his oldest friend, and brother in all but blood, Sirius Black.

James tends to go easier on the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw students, though he shows no mercy toward the Slytherins. At some points, he's even turned Snape upside-down and pulled his pants off in front of more than a couple dozen students. He feels no remorse while he's doing it, but can often be provoked to a glum, guilty mood when Remus decides to put his word in. James, with the help of Sirius and Peter, have been known to aid their companion, Remus Lupin during his monthly transformations into his werewolf form, spending the night holding him down, and distracting him to keep him from hurting people. James does his best not to pity his friend's affliction, knowing the burden must weigh heavily on him. He is more than happy to keep Remus' curse a secret, and help in any way he can.

James trusts his friends with his life, and hopes that the feeling is shared. He could think of few things better than standing side by side during a duel, or getting drinks, or feasting the great hall. He knows his life wouldn't be the same without them.

"Oh give it a bloody rest, will you, I know it wasn't my best prank ever but it didn't hurt anyone that badly, right?" James sighed, staring at his own reflection with a look of contempt in his eyes. "I mean, how was I supposed to know that fool was carrying something so important?", he asked himself, then sighed. "Gee, thanks, I'll come to you the next time I need advice for sure...", he told himself as he turned and laid back on his bed. He was dressed in his usual clothes, minus his robes, the button-up, long-sleeved white shirt, his glasses and grey-ish black pants, his black shoes were on the ground beside the bed, and his hair was it's messy as usual.

He didn't move, sighing twice, he checked the clock, it was late anyway, maybe he'd lay low until the whole 'exploding feather' incident blew over. He turned off the lamp beside his bed, crawling under the blankets before preparing to lay awake for the next few hours while he came up with a less destructive prank.
