No no no. Saturday mornings were meant to be lazy morning for Lily Evans. And yet there she was laying in bed, staring up at the canopy of the four poster bed, and wondering why she had to be awake so early. Rather than toss and turn in bed trying to get herself to fall back asleep and waking up her dorm mates, Lily got up and got dressed. The chill was setting in now and so jeans and a jumper seemed the most appropriate clothing.
As she left the dorm Lily pulled her hair into a ponytail. The common room was quiet and someone had relit the fire so it was warm down here. Her stomach made a small gurgling sound and so she decided that there was no point in putting off getting food. Walking through the castle, Lily thought about her plans for the day. It was a Hogsmeade weekend but she had no real need to head into the village. Maybe if she got bored she would wander in and find something to send her Dad. He was often fascinated by the little magical trinkets she could send home and was a big fan of colour changing ink.
The Great Hall was more or less empty when Lily got there. So many of the students were probably either in bed or had decided they would get breakfast in the village. At least it would be quieter than on a normal day. Lily headed over to her house table and sat herself in the middle. Looking around at the dishes she eventually decided on toast and jam. Pulling some pieces of toast towards her, Lily couldn't help but yawn as she began to smother them in strawberry jam.

Remus never slept in. He had gotten up just before the sun came up and went for a run. He never played quidditch but he kept in shape ever since he was turned into a werewolf. After his run the sun was up, others would soon be rising even though it was Saturday morning. He knew that some though slept it. A smile came across his face as he thought of his best friends. He knew they would still be asleep. He went back up to his dorm and gathered his clothes. He went to the prefect’s bathroom and took a bath there. He loved going there because no one would be in there yet so he could think without a lot of talking. Think about what he might want to do after Hogwarts.
After his bath he got dressed. His hair dried he went back up to his common room. His friends were still asleep. He smiled and grabbed his book that he was currently reading. He packed his bag together with his books and papers and such for his studying later. He would do that after he had breakfast. He grabbed his bag and left his dorm and leaving the common room. He was dressed in regular clothes since it was Saturday.
He went down the stairs his stomach grumbling on the way. He smirked and continued making his way down the stairs having to stop one time to make a sixth year Slytherin leave a first year ravenclaw alone. He gave the Slytherin student a warning and told him that next time he caught him it would be detention and house points taken away. He continued on his way to the Great Hall. He finally made it down the stairs and walked into the Great Hall. Remus sighed and ran a hand through his hair. He looked at the Gryffindor table for a place where he could sit and eat. He saw Lily and smirked sitting beside her. Good morning Lily he said as he made his plate of a whole bunch of food. Remus was a werewolf so he always ate a lot.

Lily's plate was soon laden with strawberry covered toast. The goblet in front of her was filled with tea. That was something she didn't think she could ever get used to. Drinks being served in goblets seemed somewhat normal until you looked and saw tea. She often yearned for her polka dot mug back at home. There was something more comfortable about drinking from a mug than a goblet. Lily began to munch at the toast and let the sweet taste spread over her tongue.
A few more people were flooding themselves into the hall. A weight dropped down next to her on the bench. Swallowing the bite that she had in her mouth and running her tongue over her teeth to make sure there was no jam there, Lily gave Remus a smile. Stifling back another yawn she said, "Morning Remus." He looked more awake than she felt which was surprising. On the other hand Lily hadn't seen Remus in early mornings so maybe he was always like this. "No one else with you?" Lily asked him. She glanced over at the doors.
Everyone, and this was actually no exaggeration, everyone in the school knew of Remus and his friends, the marauders. Lily was actually glad that Remus was on his own and if he was going to have company joining him she would make her excuses and leave. She took another bite out of the slice of toast she had started. "Anything planned for the day?" A sip of tea washed a lump away from her throat and slowly but surely she was beginning to feel more like a human being than some brain addled zombie.
